CLEAN SWEEP: A CASE STUDY

An agency nomination for a prestigious port call, including a naming ceremony, creates demands that Denholm Barwil staff take in their stride.

A client calling in the UK had a problem - the yard had literally just finished the finishing touches as she berthed in Southampton at 1700hrs on a Saturday. Understandably both principal and master were very worried as VIPs were due on Monday 0900hrs for the beginning of the scheduled events leading up to the naming. The vessel was simply not in a clean enough state.

A request from the vessel came on Sunday 1000hrs... could we, the agent, find 250 cleaning staff and put them on board to work through Sunday night. The Denholm Barwil team managed to gather some 170 contract cleaners. Transportation from as far as Cornwall and Birmingham was promptly arranged.
